In collaboration with Southeastern Ohio Counseling Center, we are excited to bring the "Parenting Hub" to all of our K-12 families! This monthly event will be held at varying locations throughout the community and will hopefully help parents/guardians with a wide range of issues that include but aren't limited to, challenging behaviors, developing positive communication techniques, strengthening parent child relationships and so much more.
Our first Parenting Hub will be November 19, at 6 p.m. at the Community Room at 100 Cisler Lane (families will go down stairs to get to the room) We hope to see many of you in attendance, and be sure to keep your eyes out for this event every month moving forward!
It's World Kindness Day! We hope that one of the things our students learn as they attend Marietta City Schools is that being kind matters! Kindness can come in all shapes and sizes, from helping a friend, cleaning up trash at your local park, or donating to those who are less fortunate. We are very proud of our students and staff members and we are certain there is an abundance of kindness throughout our district!

Our next Coffee with Care will be tomorrow November 13, from 9-9:45 a.m. in the MES Cafeteria. The title of this session will be " Building Strong Relationships". We hope to many of you there!

Student Leadership will be selling Candy Grams next week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during each lunch period. You can purchase a candy pumpkin for $1.00 (limit of 3) to send to a friend! Students will fill out a card for their friend when purchasing the pumpkin. All pumpkins will be delivered on Thursday morning! Happy Halloween from Student Leadership!
This Friday, October 25, will be our annual Halloween dress up day. Students are permitted to wear their costume to school if it follows the guidelines below.
–A Halloween mask is NOT permitted throughout the school day.
–NO FORM OF WEAPONS, BLOOD, OR GORE may be part of the costume.
–Costumes must meet dress code requirements.
–Costumes must permit students to sit and participate in the learning process for the day.
–Students that have gym need to wear or bring tennis shoes.
If you have a question about your costume, please feel free to contact administration! We can't wait to see all of the amazing costumes our students wear.

This is a wonderful opportunity to gather for some coffee and goodies while discussing important topics that can help your students continue to thrive. Our first meeting is going to be "How to handle anger management/big emotions with my child". We hope to see you all tomorrow!
The Marietta Cheerleaders would like to invite you to participate in our 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat With The Tigers, Sunday October 20, 2024 from 5:00-6:30, at Marietta High School Davis parking lot. Our Trunk or Treat event is a great way for youth in our community to come, meet, and interact with the athletes and club members at Marietta JH and HS. Our inaugural event in 2023 was a success, with nearly 200 young trunk or treaters! We hope to see you there!
Student leadership is holding a 5th and 6th grade Halloween Dance on October 17, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the MES Gymnasium. The cost is $5 and there will be a concession stand. All proceeds go to the student leadership fundraising efforts.
***This is a Halloween Dance so students are permitted to wear their costumes. The same expectations about costumes for school on Friday, October 25th apply for the dance. There will be a costume contest. Get creative!
**Cell phones are NOT permitted to be used at the dance.

Marietta Girls Soccer has a huge game on October 1 and any Marietta City School Student who attends wearing a black shirt will get free admission! So pack the stands to support these girls and be sure to wear black!

Parents don't forget that tomorrow, September 26, is parent teacher conferences and students will be released 2 hours early. In addition, there will be no school on Friday September 27. Thank you!
