Marietta City School District has announced the exciting addition of Dash McNeal as Director of Operations. As the Director of Operations, McNeal will be responsible for transportation, facilities, maintenance, grounds, and custodial services for the school district.

McNeal graduated from Crooksville High School in Perry County and attended Baldwin Wallace University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management. He furthered his education at Ohio University where he earned his Master's degree in Recreation and Sports Science. McNeal also has minors in business, recreation, and coaching.

Brad Silvus, Superintendent of Marietta City School District, spoke about McNeal’s interview process and why he was the best candidate for the position.

“He presented a plan to the interview committee demonstrating how he would transition into this role and get to know staff, processes, and areas for improvement. His plan was very detailed and the interview committee felt it was the best presentation.”

McNeal has a background in facility management at Marietta College where he served as the Assistant Athletic Director for facilities and recreation for over 10 years. 

Silvus relayed his excitement for McNeal taking on the new position and talked about how his previous experience will benefit the district. “Mr. McNeal brings experience and energy to the district. He has a background in process implementation and understands how to evaluate our practices to make them more effective and efficient.”

McNeal discussed his goal for this position and his excitement about the future with the staff and students in the district. “I want to be able to make a positive impact on the Marietta City School District.”
