Ryan McClain

Marietta City School District has hired Ryan McClain as the Assistant Attendance/Athletic Director. This position will assist with both monitoring and improving attendance for the district as well as coordinating with all of the Tiger athletic programs and their needs.

In his capacity as the Assistant Attendance Director, McClain will help monitor students whose attendance is problematic and help develop strategies to help reduce absences.

Brittnany Schaad, Attendance and Home Services Coordinator, is excited to see what having additional help will do for the students that she works with.

“We are extremely excited to have Ryan join our team at MCS! His background, passion for kids and enthusiastic personality is a true asset to our district. I can’t wait to collaborate with him to see how we can best support our amazing families!”

In addition to these duties, McClain will be handling a majority of the interactions at the youth and elementary levels of the sports programs here in Marietta City Schools. McClain will be responsible for coordinating with coaches to schedule practices, games and any other situations that may arise. This dedication to the youth programs is something that has been tough to give the attention it deserves in the past due to the sheer volume of work that comes with managing an athletics program the size of Marietta City Schools.

Cody Venderlic, Athletic Director for Marietta City School District, discussed his excitement to have McClain join the staff and the impact it’s going to make at all levels of the district.

“With his passion for sports and dedication to academic excellence, we are confident that Ryan will be a valuable addition to our team. The best part about this addition is knowing that we will be able to focus more of our time and energy on our Junior High teams and our youth feeder programs! Adding Ryan allows us to build and grow from the bottom up, creating one Marietta sports family!"

McClain is a graduate of Marysville High School and Muskingum University and prior to joining MCSD he spent a year as a Clinical Coordinator for Marietta College’s PA program and 10 years as a Social Service Coordinator with Memorial Health.

McClain is ready for this next challenge and excited about his future with Marietta City Schools. “I’m joining a passionate and caring group of staff, administrators, and educators in the Marietta School District. They truly care about the students and making them successful. I’m ready to assist all of the wonderful students of this district anyway I can.”
