Tiger Families,

As we prepare for the start of school next week, we wanted to update you on current COVID expectations. Working with the health department and guidance received from the Ohio Department of Health the following processes will be followed:

  1. If students or staff feel sick or suspect they might have COVID-19, they should stay home and take a rapid test.

If positive, students and staff should stay home from school for at least 5 days and longer if necessary until fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication} and if symptoms are improving.

After isolation ends, students and staff may continue to take precautions as they resume normal activities by:
            a.  Wearing a mask for 5 days
            b.  Or after two negative tests 48 hours apart.
This is recommended by the CDC but is not required.

  2. Close contacts are not required to quarantine unless they also become sick, then we would recommend testing and quarantine. Close contacts should self-monitor for symptoms.
  3. Students and staff are not required to wear masks in the classroom or on the bus. This is a personal choice.
  4. The school will have home tests available for students to take them home, with permission from parents. Testing will not be conducted at school. It must be done with a parent or guardian present. Positive results should be reported to the Washington County Health Department

We will continue to work closely with the local health department for updated information and the best practices to keep our children and staff safe at school. Go Tigers!!!
