The Marietta City School District Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Hollister to fill the vacant seat on the Board.

This decision followed a process in which the Board invited prospective applicants to a working session to learn more about the responsibilities of the position and to discuss how a healthy Board functions. After meeting with the applicants, the Board entered executive session on August 13, 2025, to deliberate and ultimately select Mr. Hollister. Upon returning to open session that evening, the Board officially appointed and welcomed Mr. Hollister to his new role.

Board President Cody Parman expressed his appreciation for the community’s response:

“We received a tremendous amount of interest in this position in a short period of time, which speaks to how much this community cares about the students and educators in our district.”

Parman also noted the sense of optimism surrounding the district’s future and the value of Mr. Hollister’s prior service:

“It was clear that Mr. Hollister has a genuine passion for students. His experience as a Board member from 1976 to 1989 will be invaluable for the stability of our district, and we as a Board are excited to work alongside him.”
