Christian Hudspeth Communications Coordinator

Marietta City School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Christian Hudspeth as their new Communications Coordinator.  Hudspeth was officially voted in during the monthly board meeting held on Monday, July 31.

Cody Parman, Vice President of the Board of Education, spoke of how happy he was that a team of key stakeholders for the district were all able to contribute their thoughts on what was needed for the position.

“I was able to participate in the second round of the interview process and by that time we had narrowed it down to two highly qualified candidates for the position,” stated Parman. “I’m very excited to have Christian on board and feel he’s a great choice for the district.”

Brad Silvus, Superintendent, spoke of how Christian’s familiarity and demeanor during the interview process helped him stand out for the position.

“We are very excited to welcome Christian to our staff. Christian is an alumni of Marietta and will bring a refreshing perspective and voice to our district. We had great candidates for this position and Christian was the clear choice for us.”

Hudspeth is a Marietta native and attended the district from Kindergarten until his graduation from Marietta High school in 2008. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Marietta College in 2012, where he majored in Journalism with a minor in Advertising and Public Relations.

“I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity to work with so many great people and I hope that I’m going to be a resource for them,” stated Hudspeth. “I grew up in Marietta City Schools and now my kids are following in my footsteps, so I know firsthand how hard everyone works to provide kids with the best education possible.”

Hudspeth has worked in the communications and marketing field for the last 10 years primarily working with small local businesses during that time. He has been married for 8 years and has two children. In his spare time he enjoys sports, fishing, and spending time with his family.
