Message from the Superintendent

Good evening parents and students.

First and foremost, I hope that you and your family are healthy and well. These are challenging and uncertain times for everyone. The situation is changing quickly, so we need to always be thinking forward about what could be coming next.

Earlier today, Governor DeWine issued a "Stay at Home" order. This is a significant step in our attempt to gain control of the spread of COVID - 19. Based on what I have read and am being told by our healthcare professionals, it is extremely important for us to abide by this order.

We will continue to function in the "Remote Learning" manner so work with your children and communicate with your teachers regularly. Students need to stay engaged in their studies. Keep a consistent schedule for lessons. Your principals and teachers will be making changes periodically as this situation continues to unfold. It is important that we stay connected. Please monitor school emails, listen to robo-calls, and check the various social media sources for updates.

Additionally, I want to make you aware that we are expanding Mobile Meal pick up points beyond the original locations. Meals (combination of breakfast and lunch) can be picked up for children aged 18 and under at the following locations:

Washington Elementary 11:00 - 1:00
Harmar Elementary 11:00 - 1:00
Colonial Terrace Apts. 12:00 - 1:00
Ridgewood Court Apts. 12:00 - 1:00
Morningside Apts. 12:00 - 1:00
Reno Community Center 12:00 -1:00

Be safe and be smart. Take care of yourselves and others. We will get through this together.

Will Hampton
Superintendent, Marietta City Schools
