YEC 2018 Implementation Update

The Young Entrepreneurs Consortium has been going strong for 4 years now.  Click the above link to the 2018 Implementation Update to find out how the 15 schools involved have been impacted by this work.

In the spring of 2014, MCS was contacted by Battelle for Kids and invited to become a partner in a consortium that was completing a grant application for Ohio’s Straight A Fund grant program ( The consortium was awarded the grant during the summer of 2014. Found in the downloadable documents to the right is an overview of the impact of the YEC on Marietta City Schools.

Because MCS is a part of the YEC, we have been able to increase dual enrollment options on the high school campus with our teaching staff. MCS high school teachers are offering courses for college credit in math, English, Spanish, music, art, business/entrepreneur, and computer applications. YEC funds were also used to update and increase student/teacher access to technology. Both the high school and middle school libraries were revamped to include 21st century learning spaces, and are now considered Technology and Media Integration Centers (TMI Center). We are excited about the opportunities that the YEC grant brings to MCS and the advantages forwarded to our students.
