College Credit Plus Information

All students taking courses at a college campus or online need to FIRST go to Arletta Elder in the TMI Center for textbook information and purchase.

Students will NOT be able to purchase books at the college campus without evidence of having met with Arletta Elder first. 

2023-2024 Academic Year

253 students took CCP classes

1,096 credit hours taken through CCP at Marietta High School with credentialed teachers

3,258 total credit hours taken through CCP (includes those taken at Marietta High School, those at WSCO, and those taken online through WSCO)

Total dollar amount: $360,081.10


College Credit Plus Textbook* Information

In order to avoid confusion, please review the information below, as it is based on the policies of the college campus through which your child is taking classes. Lost and damaged books are the responsibility of the student.  This may include books returned when classes are dropped.  

If your child is taking courses on the Marietta High School Campus…

  • The textbooks will be provided to the student by the teacher

  • All textbooks must be turned into the teacher at the end of the semester

  • Students will be charged for textbooks that are not returned to the teacher.

All students taking courses at a college campus or online need to FIRST go to Arletta Elder in the MHS TMI Center for textbook information and purchase.  Students must bring a printed copy of their schedule, also.

If your child is taking courses at the WSCO campus…

There are three options for obtaining the textbooks that are needed

  1. Textbooks can be checked out from the high school library, if available.  Please check with Arletta Elder in the TMI Center to see if the books that are needed are available.  

    a. These textbooks must be returned to the MHS TMI Center

    b. Students will be charged for the price of the book if it is not returned by the due date.  All due dates are the same as the   rental due dates set by Barnes and Noble at WSCO.

  2. Textbooks can be rented from the Barnes and Noble bookstore on the WSCO campus, if available.  Marietta City Schools will pay the initial rental fee. These textbooks must be returned to WSCO eCampus bookstore by the due date.

    a. The debit/credit card will be charged the replacement fee if the book is not returned to Barnes and Noble by the due date. 

  3. Textbooks can be purchased from Barnes and Noble if renting is not an option for a particular book Marietta City Schools will pay the initial price for textbook.  (Access codes may be purchased separately from the textbook**)


    a. These textbooks must be returned to the MHS TMI Center
    b. The student will be charged the price of the book if it is not returned. All due dates are the same as the rental due dates  set by Barnes and Noble at WSCC.

If your child is taking courses at Marietta College Campus… 

  • The student is responsible for the purchase of the textbooks.

If your child is taking courses at state supported colleges other than WSCO

  • The textbooks will be billed to Marietta City Schools.

  • All textbooks must be returned to the MHS TMI Center.

  • Students will be charged for the price of the book if it is not returned.

*Materials and supplies required by the course other than textbooks and the workbooks are the responsibility of the post secondary institution.
 **Some textbooks include access codes.  The textbook can be obtained from the MHS TMI Center if available and the access code purchased separately at Barnes and Noble.  
***Private colleges do not have the same CCP rules and regulations as state supported campuses.
