Dear Washington Families,

My name is Cheryl Cook and I have the pleasure of being the principal for Washington Elementary School. Washington Elementary is a kindergarten through second-grade building which also houses two preschool classes that are run by the Ohio Valley Educational Service Center. It's my hope that together and with the help of our wonderful educators that Washington will be a safe, friendly environment for our students to learn and thrive in.

Students will arrive at 8:45 a.m. with school beginning at 9:00 a.m. With the exception of delayed arrival days, breakfast is provided every day. A schedule designates which grade levels have breakfast in their classroom or the cafeteria/gym. This schedule allows teachers to meet together by grade level to review student data and share instruction strategies and concerns.

School buses loading/unloading zone is along Washington Street. All students enter the Washington Street door. Staff will be present in the morning to greet and guide students in a safe and efficient manner. Students arriving after 9:00 a.m. will enter the Fourth Street door after their parent uses the QR code to sign them in.

The day will end for student at 3:40. Kindergarten is dismissed at the Fourth Street entrance door. First grade is dismissed at the breezeway door on the Fourth Street side closest to the gym. Second grade is dismissed from the Washington Street entrance.

Lunch times are scheduled by grade level in the cafeteria/gymnasium. Students will have 30 minutes to eat, prior to going to recess.
