Flow Through Funds

Month of April, 2017

Marietta City Schools is in the process of developing applications for preschool and school age Flow Through funds also called Title VIB funds.

These funds are based upon the numbers of children with disabilities served by the school districts and are provided by the federal government.  These funds “flow through” the State Department of Education to the school district.

The federal government requires public participation.  If individuals wish to participate in this process, they should contact the Local District Coordinator of Marietta City Schools to discuss the use of the funds.

The Marietta City School District is located in Marietta, Ohio at the mouth of the Muskingum River at its confluence with the Ohio River in southeastern Ohio. Marietta was established in 1788 as the first permanent settlement of the new United States in the Territory Northwest of the River Ohio.
 
The district serves about 3000 students and families with four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school and serves the communities of Marietta, Reno, Devola, Harmar, and Oak Grove.
Foundation Statement
The following mission and vision statements were carefully developed from faculty and staff input as well the comprehensive analysis of our district data and surveys, and they also draw on the synthesis of the research about the qualities and practices of highly effective schools. The representative writing committees who were responsible for developing these statements carefully considered all of the input that was provided, and every effort was made to insure that these statements honor the spirit and ideals of the district community as a whole
Mission Statement
By pursuing world-class standards through high quality programs, the mission of Marietta City Schools is to inspire all students to achieve academic and personal excellence and become self-directed, life-long learners. To fulfill its mission, Marietta City Schools has also developed a positive, forward-reaching vision statement. This statement sets forth what stakeholders collectively envision as the ideal future for our district community.
Vision Statement

The vision of Marietta City Schools is to attain statewide recognition for outstanding student and staff performance and to be the school system of choice. Collective commitment, support, and active involvement from all community stakeholders will be essential for transforming this vision into a reality. Therefore, this vision statement provides a common set of ideal standards or goals that all community stakeholders should strive to achieve.
