Marietta City School District

Welcome to the Marietta City School District.  Established in 1788 as the first settlement in the Northwest Territory, Marietta is steeped in history and tradition.  Serving 2,700 students and families, we are committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment, meeting individual needs and preparing students for successful careers and lives.

Our four elementary schools, middle school and high school play essential roles in our community, working hand in hand with community businesses, organizations and volunteers to maximize experiences and opportunities for our students.

The following mission and vision statements were carefully developed from faculty and staff input as well the comprehensive analysis of our district data and surveys, and they also draw on the synthesis of the research about the qualities and practices of highly effective schools. The representative writing committees who were responsible for developing these statements carefully considered all of the input that was provided, and every effort was made to insure that these statements honor the spirit and ideals of the district community as a whole
