Welcome to Putnam Elementary, Home of Putnam Pride.
On behalf of our outstanding students, parents, and staff we welcome you to visit our school and witness for yourself the quality of education that exists here. Great emphasis is placed on learning and creating a climate where students feel safe and encouraged to excel.
Putnam has earned the distinction for four years running, 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009 as a "School of Excellence" by the state of Ohio. This is an honor and can be contributed to the cooperative efforts of parents, students, and staff. When the whole educational community works together good things happen.
Numerous programs promote quality in learning, cooperation between home and school, resolving conflicts without violence, and building confidence so students strive to be their best. We are proud of our school, staff, students, and parents that all work cooperatively to make Putnam a place where kids enjoy learning.

Keeping You Informed
Special Programs Being Conducted
"BE COOL'
In an effort to teach students how to resolve conflicts in a peaceful manner and how to express anger in appropriate ways students in grades 1-5 will participate in the "Be Cool" video program conducted by Mrs. Cwynar (our guidance counselor) and Mr. Arnold. Parents are encouraged to read Putnam's monthly newsletter that you receive in the mail. There is valuable information in it and provides you with a calendar of events that you can place on your refrigerator. This is provided by our PTO.
