Substitutes Needed

Marietta City Schools is in the process of recruiting people to serve as sub custodians, teachers, teacher aides, secretaries, and attendants.  We need good quality people that want to work and are reliable and  dependable.  Substitutes play an important role in our day to day operation.

The positions are paid positions.  Substitute teachers must have a four year college degree which does not have to be in education.  Substitute teacher pay is on a daily basis.  If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher please contact Missy Dye at 374-6500, Ext. 11.

People wanting to serve as secretary, attendant, aide, or custodian must have a high school diploma. These positions are paid by the hour.  If you are interested in one of these positions please contact Linda Seevers at 374-6500, Ext. 20.

JOB TITLE: Teacher Aide - ED Classroom

Major duties and Responsibilities
The person holding this position is directly responsible to the building principal and to the teacher of the
Emotionally Disturbed class for the work assigned. Duties assigned to the aide shall be flexible but shall
reflect the needs of the ED students, the program and the teacher. The following duties are an integral
part of the aide's responsibilities.
1. Follow behavior management programs that are to be implemented for ED students.
2. Assist the teacher in setting up behavior management programs by helping to obtain baseline
. data and/or recording observations.
3. Assist with academic instruction, individual and small group, under the direct supervision of the
teacher for the ED program.
4. Supervise the program as directed by the teacher when the teacher must leave the classroom.
5. Assist in grading objective type work.
6. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials.
7. Set up and operate audio-visual equipment and other machines.
8. Help clean up after projects or daily instructional activities.
9. Assist with the supervision of ED students in the lunch room, and during any other activity
during the regular school day.
10. Accompany the class on all school related field trips and/or school approved programs.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Thirty (30) Semester Hours
2. The teacher aide must maintain good health, both physically and mentally.
3. The teacher aide must possess the following characteristics:
      a. Able to get along with both students and professional personnel.
      b. Compassionate with students
      c. Dedicated to the professional and flexible for the job assigned.
4. The teacher aide must have a current aide permit.
      Employment shall be consistent with the annually adopted school calendar for the teaching
